Kim Frost grew up in a stereotypical Southern California neighborhood. Her parents constantly encouraged her to explore her creative side and to adventure often. She always found herself more interested in art classes than math, and knew early on as long as she was being creative, she was happy.
Without knowing it, Kim took her first step towards starting her own business when she received her event planning certification at Cal State Fullerton in 2010. At the same time, Kim attended & graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise for Visual Communication & Business in 2012. After leaving FIDM she found herself as a lead designer at a real estate firm in Newport Beach. Although she was very successful in this role, she quickly realized that it was not something she wanted to do.
Kim found herself searching for a way to be creative and express herself. While decorating her new home and planning/staging her upcoming wedding, Kim realized she had discovered her true passion. Before long, Kim found herself working for a staging company specializing in coastal homes in Orange County. Her love for design and home eventually blended with her passion for vintage and all of this combined to give her the push to branch out on her own.
In the last 5 years Ripe Designs has garnered clients and followers from around the world. The company loves a design challenge and an opportunity to show off it's ever-evolving style. No matter what style Kim is asked to create, each space designed feels cozy, eclectic and unique.
What started out as a search for her true passion, Kim has created a successful design firm with clients all over the country. Ripe Designs now has an e-commerce business, a traveling vintage shop, and a massive social media following.
